SysEleven: Sovereign Cloud is now reality

  • secunet subsidiary expands open source-based public cloud offerings
  • User-friendly dashboard, single sign-on, and numerous security features

  • Private cloud tailored for highly sensitive data and applications

Berlin, 3 September 2024 – The Berlin-based cloud and managed Kubernetes specialist SysEleven is making the dream of digital sovereignty come true. SysEleven now offers its customers functions that make it as easy as possible to create and run IT infrastructure that is both scalable and digitally sovereign. The subsidiary of Germany’s leading cybersecurity company secunet has put two new data centers into operation, developed a user-friendly central dashboard, and added numerous features to its offering.

“We are tearing down walls to make running a sovereign cloud easier,” promises Norbert Müller, SysEleven’s CEO and Vice President Cloud Solutions at secunet. He adds, “Our customers want to take full control of their IT infrastructure regardless of their level of digital transformation. We offer a wide range of solutions for this – from private cloud and public cloud to cloud native with managed Kubernetes.”

New features and functions of SysEleven OpenStack Cloud and MetaKube

  • New data centers – SysEleven has two new regions in Düsseldorf and Hamburg that are equipped with the latest security and sustainability certifications.
  • Central dashboard – SysEleven’s user-friendly dashboard is your main point of contact for managing cloud and container infrastructure – including a Terraform provider to simplify and automate infrastructure management, with full API coverage for all key management operations and extensive documentation.
  • Identity and Access Management (IAM) – Role-based access control (RBAC) lets you define authorizations for specific teams and projects.
  • Pay as you go – SysEleven does not charge monthly license fees. Instead they bill according to how many resources were used.
  • Better and secure storage – SysEleven has accelerated data processing and increased data security thanks to NVMe storage as well as fully geo-redundant, scalable storage solutions such as S3 object storage, block storage, or multi-attached storage.
  • GPU utilization – SysEleven’s customers can book flexible GPU computing power to accelerate particularly compute-intensive applications, for example for machine learning or big data applications.
  • Private cloud – Customers can operate their highly sensitive applications in SysEleven’s private cloud. Each customer enjoys their own isolated area with all the benefits of a public cloud.

Digital sovereignty made real

“Our cloud and container services are 100% based on open source,” says Jens Plogsties, CTO of SysEleven. “This gives our customers the freedom to manage their demanding workloads in a portable way at any time – with no vendor lock-in – and to orchestrate their applications smoothly – SysEleven provides the right tools.” As a next step, SysEleven will integrate additional services. These include support for unstructured data (NoSQL) as well as Firewall as a Service and Backup and Restore as a Service.
